Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are actually open and may close on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should meet the following requirements:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home having a combined gross domestic income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic revenue does not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and nsfas application R600 000 for every annum.
Applicants are reminded to provide the right Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are researching or plan to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
